15/9/2017 - Sourav Ganguly Visits Our Kolkata Centre

When the news broke that Sourav Ganguly, Former Captain, Indian National Cricket Team, would be visiting our centre in Kolkata - a flurry of activity ensued. Parents and members of our team began cleaning and preparing the centre for his visit, while the children prepared a song and a dance for their beloved Dada. Children from both Premashraya and Thakurpukur came together on the day to interact with their hero. Our Team Members gave Ganguly a tour of the facilities available, after which our little ones presented him with handmade paper flowers and cards. The children then performed a dance to Tagore’s rendition of “Aaj Khela Bhanger Khela” and sang a song of hope and determination, “We Shall Overcome”, which Ganguly thoroughly enjoyed. All of a sudden, he asked which children would like to play cricket with him! All the children jumped with joy and ran out to the terrace, a bat and ball were arranged for and the children got to play cricket with their idol! Ganguly was very intrigued by our ‘home away from home’ concept and impressed by the cleanliness at the centre. He said “it’s remarkable touching and life changing…”
